As a provider established in Belgium, we are subject to Belgian law under the country-of-origin principle (Art. 3 of Directive 2000/31/EC); these particulars follow Art. XII.6 of the Belgian Code of Economic Law.

Email: support@candlepaws.com. This mailbox is read by a person, and it is the fastest way to reach us. We answer within two working days, usually sooner. Write in English, German or Dutch.

We have no phone line, on purpose: we are a very small team and would rather answer you carefully in writing than badly on the phone. If you would rather talk, send us a number and a time in your email and we will call you back.

CandlePaws hosts pages that people create themselves. If you believe something here is unlawful — a photo used without permission, a tribute that attacks someone, anything against the law — tell us and we will look at it. This is our notice mechanism under Art. 16 of Regulation (EU) 2022/2065 (the Digital Services Act).

Email support@candlepaws.com with “Report” in the subject line. So that we can act quickly, please include:

• why you believe the content is unlawful, explained fully enough for us to follow it;
• the exact address (URL) of the page, and which part of it you mean — for example which guestbook entry;
• your name and email address (you may leave your name out if the report concerns offences under Articles 3 to 7 of Directive 2011/93/EU);
• a statement that you believe in good faith that what you have told us is accurate and complete.

What happens next: we confirm receipt without undue delay, review the report carefully and without automated decision-making, and tell you what we decided and why. If we remove or restrict content, we give our reasons to the person who posted it too. Every guestbook entry also carries a “Report” link that opens a pre-filled email.

Reports that are manifestly unfounded and repeated may be given lower priority.

Point of contact under Arts. 11 and 12 DSA — for authorities, the Commission, the Board, and for users: the same email address. We communicate in English, German or Dutch.

How we handle personal data is set out in our Privacy Policy. You may complain to the supervisory authority in the country where you live, or to the Belgian Data Protection Authority that oversees us: Autorité de protection des données / Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit, Rue de la Presse 35, 1000 Brussels, contact@apd-gba.be.

Premium is a one-time purchase of €49 per memorial (our launch price — later €59), including VAT. There is no subscription and there are no further costs. The full rules are in our Terms of Service, and your right of withdrawal is in the withdrawal section there.

Out-of-court dispute resolution: we are not required to take part in proceedings before a consumer arbitration body, and we have not committed to doing so. Please write to us directly first — nearly everything can be settled that way. Independently of that, as the customer of a Belgian company you may turn to the Belgian Consumer Ombudsman Service: North Gate II, Boulevard du Roi Albert II 8 box 1, 1000 Brussels, ombudsdienstverbraucher.be.

The EU's online dispute resolution platform was discontinued on 20 July 2025 and no longer exists.

Complete and return this form only if you wish to withdraw from the contract. You do not have to use it — any clear statement will do.
